On Day 2, we woke up early to walk walk at the local morning market and to try local delicacies instead of the normal hotel breakfast…
My first 滷肉飯 in Taiwan!
After breakfast, we depart to Taipei!
First stop is the CKS Memorial Hall (国立中正纪念堂)!
We were there just in time for the guard-changing ceremony.
After the group photo, we head to Matyrs’ Shrine (國民革命忠烈祠).
Just in time for their guard-changing ceremony, too!
After doing all the touristy stuff, our tour guide brought us to a Le Coral Le Pearl. A sophiscaticated jade/pearl shop. In hoping, we, tourists would splurge on those items. I’m not a big fan, thus lurking around outside the shop and spotted a Taiwanese postman at work!
His bike looks so the powderful!
Afterthat, it’s time for lunch! Our tour guide brought us back to the Thai restaurant again. You must be wondering why? Coz we have Muslim colleagues with us, thus a Halal restaurant to save time!
After lunch, our next destination will be back to Taoyuan for Leofoo Village Theme Park (六福村) and it will take another 1.5 hours there.
Bought bubble tea and sweets before we depart to the theme park!
In Taiwan, you get to choose the size of the pearl, sweetness of the tea and amount of ice you want for your bubble tea.
The weather here was so cold! Shivering most of the time.
The kids might like the theme park.
After Leofoo, we are heading to Taichung. All the way from Taoyuan, it takes about 3 hours to Taichung by bus.
Went for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Food was so-so.
We are anticipating Feng Jia (逢甲夜市) that night! However, we wasted so much time during dinner due to 2 different groups eating at 2 different restaurants. Ended up we only have 2 hours in Feng Jia. So NOT enough!
Managed to try “big sausage wrap small sausage” (大腸包小腸) and the YiLan Onion Biscuit.
No more photos cause we were so busy shopping!
But I only managed to grab this…
Pink top = NTD 175
We only get to check-in the hotel in Taichung at 12am midnite!
Looking forward to Sun Moon Lake the next day~
